Cameron's Hat
Here is the beanie I made for Cameron. He picked out the colors. I like his choices :o)

Orange Mobius Scarf
This was a fun scarf to make. The "box" detail was a little tricky and I had to use a billion stitch markers.
I also learned a new stitch, the reverse single crochet. I like edging that this stitch creates.
I think a few people may be getting a version of this scarf for Christmas :o) This one is for me. It matches the granny square finger-less gloves I made previously.

Second Recycled Handbag
I finished this handbag this evening. I had just enough yarn (within inches) from the thrifted sweater to complete it. I bought the rings at the thrift store as well. They were part of an "ugly" purse that I bought for 99 cents. This one is a favorite :o)

Transformation
I am turning this Abercrombie & Fitch wool sweater (I bought at Goodwill for $3.99) into this Starling Handbag (the larger one). Pretty thrifty I think!

Beanie Update
I finished Cameron's beanie. He says he loves it and I should make one for everyone in the house. I used a pattern, but improvised a little too. I kept adding stitches and I'm not sure why. The more I make, the more I learn.
Ear Flap Beanie
Cameron asked me to crochet him a beanie. He is famous for his beanie wearing in the winter (and sometimes the summer). He picked out bright green, turquoise and purple. I started it tonight; it shouldn't take too long to finish. It was fun picking out the yarn colors with him.

Crochet
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was about 10 years old. Except for the few months after I learned, I haven't picked up a hook and yarn since then, until about a week ago.
I was in Fred Meyer and saw the yarn section (which I've seen a million times before) and was compelled to buy a crochet hook and some yarn. Since then, I haven't been able to put them down. I've gotten so much joy and peace from just sitting and crocheting. I've also been inspired to do something with this blog that I created three years ago.
So. I'm going to keep creating and also write about the process here. I'm going to take this motivation and run with it!
